A Church Community

We were created for community. Part of that is being family together; being a blessing to one another and serving one another. Each time we serve one another we are becoming more like Jesus.

We want to encourage everyone who belongs to Cowley Church Community to have servant hearts; choosing to bless and serve one another, in an attitude of Christ-like service.

Leadership Team

Daniel Blanche, Lead Pastor

Daniel originally came to Oxford as a student, and returned to work with Christian Unions in Oxford and High Wycombe. More recently, he has held a variety of jobs in university administration, before joining Cowley Church Community as a pastor in 2016. He is studying part-time for an MA with Union School of Theology.

Daniel is married to Kate, and they have two children, Rufus and Amy. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys coffee, fixing the problems of the world over a pint, and playing obscure board games.

Daniel takes primary responsibility on the eldership for the preaching programme and other aspects of our Sunday Celebrations.

Tim Guest, Community Pastor

Tim moved to Oxford in August 2001 and spent four years working for a Christian charity called Innovista International, as the team leader of its travelling theatre company. In 2005 he moved on to work with Oxfordshire County Council where he spent 12 years working in a number of different roles, most recently as part of the Communications and Marketing team. He finished there in 2017 to begin studying Theology part-time at Union School of Theology. He is married to Mary and they have two children, Barney and Rosie.

Tim takes responsibility on the eldership for our community engagement as a church. He is passionate about the work of Christians Against Poverty and currently serves as the chair of trustees of the Oxford Churches Debt Centre, representing Cowley Church Community as one of the five partner churches running the centre.

In his spare time Tim loves football (and is in denial that his football-playing days are over), enjoys real coffee and any good story well told.

Andy Moore, Elder

Andy moved to Oxford in March 2006 to work with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), initially in a fundraising role, and now as Head of Communication and Collaboration. Andy is a keen cyclist, and member of the Cowley Road Condors. He is married to Ruth and they have two sons.

Fraser Hutchinson, Treasurer

Fraser moved to Oxford in 2005 to work in Marketing and Publicity for Children's Books at Oxford University Press. After trying out a few other publishers, he is back there working with Picture Books and Fiction, trying on lots of character costumes when he has a spare moment.

Having met at a local church, he married Rosie in 2012 and they live in East Oxford. In his free time, he loves running, reading, and hasn't quite given up on his childhood love of LEGO.
